How Is Your Indoor Air Quality?

Breathe easier with our indoor air quality services!

allergy relief new yorkWe’ve seen how vital the air quality around us is, particularly in our own homes, over the past two years.

Indoor air quality affects our health as well as our wellbeing and the quality of life in our homes. When the air quality in your home is poor, allergies and respiratory illnesses can be exacerbated, skin may become dry, air can smell musty and unpleasant. Dry air can harm wood, cabinetry, and trim as well as furniture and electronics.

“Why do I need indoor air quality equipment?” you might ask. “I change my HVAC filter on a regular basis, so why do I need this stuff?”

The answer is that your house’s HVAC system captures some of the particulate matter in your home’s air, such as pollen, dust, dirt, and pet dander. It does not, however, trap all of them. At least some of each will get through. Nor is it able to capture airborne viruses or bacteria, or volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

This is where NOCO can help as we sell and install iWave air purifiers. We offer a FREE, honest indoor air quality assessment, and show how an iWave air purifier will help alleviate your home’s indoor air quality issues.

NOCO’s indoor air quality solutions

The iWave air purifier isn’t one of those freestanding air cleaners you see at your local department or home improvement store. The iWave is installed into your home’s HVAC system.

iWave reduces germs, allergens, particles, smoke and odors without producing any dangerous by-products as air passes through it. It produces ions that, once they come into contact with viruses, bacteria, allergens and mold, remove their hydrogen molecules, which is the pathogens’ source of energy. The pathogens then die and are trapped in your HVAC’s air filter instead of getting circulated back into your home.

Tips for maintaining indoor air quality

During winter and summer, your home’s windows are often closed to let your HVAC system keep your home comfortable. But there are ways to keep your air quality good even when fresh air isn’t coming in frequently.

Clean frequently. Dusting and cleaning furniture and floors, as well as vacuuming carpeting and rugs, can remove pollutants and allergens from the air in your house. Do it regularly to keep dust and dirt from building up and getting circulated around your home. Reduce VOCs in your home by using lint-free cloths and fragrance-free, non-toxic chemicals.

Check your air filter. Add a reminder to your smartphone’s calendar to inspect your home’s HVAC air filter once a month and replace as needed.

Ventilate when possible. If it’s a temperate day outside, open the windows for a few hours to bring in fresh air.
